Jump Start Sports Pittsburgh franchise owners are Tyal "Ty" Prince and Daphne Chavez. Ty was born in McKeesport, where he played high school basketball at Lincoln Park before going on to Capital University in Ohio to play college basketball. He moved back to Pittsburgh to pursue a career at Dell Technologies and coach basketball at North Allegheny Carson Middle School.
Daphne was born in El Paso, Texas and moved to Pennsylvania at a young age. Daphne played multiple sports in high school and pursued a career in healthcare at Pittsburgh's Children's Hospital. Daphne is also a mobility influencer on social media.
